Sherry Peace Named District Commander for Redmond EMS District 1
December 1, 2009 - Sherry Peace has been named District Commander Redmond EMS District 1. Peace is responsible for overseeing the daily activities of the service and assisting the EMS Director. Peace is passionate about emergency medicine and assisting people in their time of need.
Peace has worked in healthcare for 14 years and spent the past four at Redmond. She most recently served as Shift Captain for Redmond EMS. She has ten plus years of ER and EMS experience.
Peace earned her diploma as an Emergency Medical Technician from North Metro Tech and went on to earn her Diploma in Paramedic Technology from Coosa Valley Tech. She is now pursuing an undergraduate degree in Animal and Dairy Science from Sneed State University and also studied at The University of Agriculture of Nicaragua where she learned Spanish.
Peace is an instructor for a variety of classes including Advanced Medical Life Support, Pediatric Life Support, Community Emergency Response Team, Advanced Disaster Life Support and CPR. Outside of work, Peace is involved in her church and volunteers in animal rescues.
She is married to Bill Peace and has two step daughters. They reside in Rome.
